National Championship Road Races

Dear Competitor;
Chicago Region SCCA celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2008, and we hope you will help us celebrate
by competing in the 53nd consecutive running of the June Sprints.
We are once again making every effort to provide you with an outstanding racing experience. All of the
elements that make the Sprints a unique event will be in place again this year, including the fantastic
Road America facility, enthusiastic fans, a strong contingency program, and intense competition.
A few things to keep in mind for 2008:
- We are again offering online registration via the www.dlbracing.com website. We strongly encour-
age you to register online if at all possible, and as an added incentive, you’ll save $20 on your
entry fee by registering online.
- The June Sprints is open to all National SCCA classes. Note that World Challenge and MX-5 Cup
cars are eligible to compete in either BP or DP.
- Road America’s Pit Vehicle registration fee has been reduced to $25 per year. Last year, the fee
was $100 per year, or $25 event.
- In a change from the past couple of years, we will not be mandating track fuel for any classes this
year. We know that many competitors appreciated our efforts on this subject the past couple of
years, but we have decided that the many challenges of accuracy, safety, and enforceability make it
infeasible for us to continue with a spec fuel rule this year. So, in 2008, fuel rules will be per the
GCR for all classes, and standard SCCA fuel testing practices will be in place.
- SCCA races are made possible through the efforts of hundreds of specialty volunteers. They are
always looking for more help. If you, or any of your crew, friends, or family would be interested in
helping out during the Sprints, or any other Chicago Region race weeken—even for just a few
hours—please stop by registration and let them know you would like to help. They will be happy to
find you something interesting and fun to do.
- Please remember that all drivers and crew are welcome at our Friday night party in the Road
America Center.
